Overview

Writers X Writers is a screenplay competition built to help emerging writers develop their craft and build meaningful creative connections. Created by writers, for writers, the competition brings together distinctive voices across film and television. We welcome compelling characters, bold ideas, and stories that stay with us—from writers finding their voice to those ready to take the next step.

Every entry receives three complimentary sentences of constructive feedback, informed by our screenwriting book, The Art of Story, and the storytelling principles at its heart. This initial feedback highlights a specific strength, identifies an opportunity for development, and offers a practical next step to help strengthen your story. Our approach extends beyond the results. We believe thoughtful feedback, practical guidance, and relationships with fellow writers can make a lasting difference to a writer’s work. Writers X Writers exists to support that process: recognising promising material while helping the people behind it move forward.

The 2026 competition will accept submissions exclusively through Scrybe, with entries closing in December 2026 and results announced in early 2027. Bring us the story you want to tell. We look forward to discovering the writer behind it.
