Simon Jones is a Liverpool-based multidisciplinary filmmaker, animator, sound designer and creative technologist, and co-director of People Versus TV CIC. His work combines live action, miniatures, animation, game engines, sound design and digital compositing to create satirical, experimental and visually distinctive films. Through PVTV, he develops collaborative projects, screenings and public programmes including Fringe Flicks and the Creative Meet-Ups, where artists and filmmakers come together to test ideas and make work collectively.
Alongside his film practice, Simon has over 25 years’ experience across music, immersive installation, virtual production, education and interdisciplinary performance. He has been commissioned by organisations including FACT and BBC Radio, held residencies in the UK and internationally, and worked across short film, XR, projection mapping and hybrid live media. His approach is hands-on, resourceful and collaborative, with a strong interest in building ambitious work through inventive low-budget methods.
