@shannon-walsh-1 Vancouver BC
Shannon Walsh works at the intersection of documentary, fiction, and activism: where public feeling meets visual form. Her work explores grief, labour, care and gender across genres and disciplines. With films screened globally and books on storytelling and ethics, she crafts emotionally resonant works that engage urgent political and social questions. Her films have been profiled internationally in Le Monde, The Guardian, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter; screened at festivals such as SXSW and IDFA; and broadcast on Netflix, ARTE, and Al Jazeera. Walsh has been recognized with the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts, a MacDowell residency, and a Guggenheim Fellowship and is a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars.
