Natalia Santos is a Mexican screenwriter and director whose work explores the destructive pursuit of recognition and the contradictions of human ambition.
She has worked on productions for Netflix, Telemundo, Paramount, and Nickelodeon as an Assistant Director and Planner, experiences that have shaped her understanding of performance, storytelling, and the standards of international audiovisual production. Her background spans both stage and screen. As a theater director for more than five years, she received awards for Best Director, Best Play, and Audience Award at Microteatro Monterrey, Mexico.
Influenced by both cinema and theater, she is drawn to stories where performance becomes identity and desire turns into self-destruction. Her short films have screened at festivals including Morelia Film Festival and Guanajuato Film Festival, while her latest short screenplay, Marinitas en Crisis, was a finalist at Shorts México and an Official Selection of the National Comedy Screenplay Competition.
Macdeath, her debut feature, is the culmination of these influences: a psychological horror film where Shakespeare's Macbeth collides with the modern obsession to be seen.
