Lauren holds an MFA and is a published essayist and pop culture commentator, with a focus on comedy. She is a Stowe Story Lab Fellow, a Top Ten Comedy Finalist, Final Draft's Big Break, and an Austin Film Second Rounder. Her feature/pilot scripts, as well as her plays, have gained recognition in various competitions, including We Screenplay, The Writer’s Lab, and The Eugene O’Neill Center. A neurodivergent writer with an autoimmune disease, Lauren uses her experiences to write “conventional” stories that subvert classic tropes. She focuses on unconventional or “othered” female characters who speak to fundamental aspects of life, with a sense of humor. You can also find Lauren acting across TV and Film, where she has played a range of characters, from Gilda Radner to a murder victim, and herself/talking head in the docu-series TV On The Edge (CNN/HBO).
