As the only child of two older civil rights activists, Kaypri describes herself as a Creative Missionary who brings good stories to life onstage and screen. She is a trained actress with a BFA in Drama best known for her two crowd-pleasing autobiographical solo plays Babygirl: media-codependa-lova-holic and it's sequel The Good Daughter & The Do Gooder that both tackle difficult subjects with heart and humor. She won her first filmmaking award from the AARP for her heartfelt PSA about caregiving entitled The Baton, which featured her and her mother. She has also edited several books, including her aging mother's civil rights memoir, which she completed for her 80th (surprise) birthday.

Kaypri has a gift for screenplay adaptations as well as developmental book editing, which due to the multiple characters she has jumped into onstage easily allows her to do the same on the page! In addition to being a New Humanitas New Voices finalist, her work has garnered recognition from Sundance, Stowe, and The Script Lab where she was chosen amongst nearly 12,000 free submissions!

In addition, The Babygirl Show the adaptation of her first solo play, made Coverfly's Red list a second time, when it made the top 10% list for Best Television Comedies in 2025.

Kaypri was hired on the webseries SAHM which allowed her to join the WGA. She proudly served as the Atlanta WGA Captain during the 2023 strikes.

Currently, her latest play adaptation, White Tears, her narrative directorial debut, is finishing up post-production.
