An alumnus of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, John(ny)—originally from Massachusetts—has written for Universal, Disney, and CBS. He wrote the Disney Channel movie MINUTEMEN, for which he received a Humanitas Prize nomination. His Black List screenplay GREETINGS FROM JERRY inspired the short film "Jerry," which John wrote and directed, starring Justin Timberlake. A short proof of concept film for John's feature screenplay SCHOOL NIGHTS, which John directed with funding from a grant awarded by The Black List, enjoyed an award-winning run on the festival circuit (including the San Diego Film Festival and Independent Film Festival Boston). At the 2025 Austin Film Festival, John's pitch of a new project earned him a spot among the top 10% invited to the Pitch Competition finals. He continues to write profiles of himself in the third person.
