Genie Leslie writes rom-coms with a twist. That is, screenplays and pilots that play with the romantic comedy genre, whether that’s with stories about queer discovery or late bloomers, or with the genre itself, finding something unexpected within the well-worn structure of these stories. A 2026 MFA graduate of the Stephens College TV & Screenwriting program, she’s also a Stowe Story Labs alum, Austin Film Festival Second Rounder, and a Roadmap Writers GPS Fellowship Finalist. She lives in Atlanta.
