E. Amato

@e-amatoshe/her

E. Amato brings radiant wisdom to her roles as writer, storyteller, curator, editor, filmmaker, facilitator, and plant-based kitchen witch.

Shedding layers of a life as a below-the-line production worker, touring poet and digital nomad during the pandemic, E. stepped into her power as a disabled woman artist.

E. writes to recode our shared futures, unfolding and amplifying stories of women and youth in limiting cultures or oppressive systems.

Combined, E.’s scripts have placed in over two dozen competitions.

MAJORITY RULES, her grounded SciFi pilot, is a forever Top 2% on Coverfly’s Red List, Unique Voices Creative Screenwriting Competition winner and semifinalist for The Writers Lab NYC.

While script supervising to accrue film and life skills, E. became a published poet, producer and performer of consecutive 5-star shows at the Festival Fringe Edinburgh, recipient of a PLAYA Summer Lake residency, and editor of Jerry Garcia’s Puschart-nominated Trumpets in the Sky.

E. trained with Judith Weston and helped bring Directing Actors 25th Anniversary Edition to life, completed Roadmap’s Career Writer Program, and enjoys participating in Roadmap’s invite-only Industry Coaching with Joey Tuccio.

Before she was a directing fellow at the AFI… around when she left Columbia University to study film at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts… E. followed the Grateful Dead—possibly sparking her let’s-join-the-circus mindset and definitely sparking her coming-of-age feature screenplay NOT FADE AWAY.
