Ari Donnelly is a screenwriter, a salty east-coast expat, and a saltier chef. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he will speak in a Boston accent if you ask nicely.
After graduating NYU—with a degree in Film and a Red Sox jersey under his gown—Ari moved to Los Angeles, where he climbed the ranks at studios like Starz and Disney, supporting dozens of series and films.
His screenplays have made waves, winning awards at HollyShorts and Filmmatic, and placing on curated industry lists like The Black List’s Top List and The Originals Bureau. Recently, he was featured in Get Repped Now, accepted into the Shore Scripts Writer Development Program, and joined the writing team of a scripted podcast.
Ari relishes high-concept stories with intersectional scope, punchy act breaks, and relatable characters making sense of ridiculous worlds. He believes in the power of stories to transcend cultural boundaries, to prove that we are all part of a global village. Even Yankees fans.
