Ana Mendez is a Hispanic Texan & writer/producer/director living in L.A., a major animal lover, a polyglot, and is definitely not three story-loving owls in a trench coat. Ana writes updated fables with allegorical elements that use genre to discuss social issues in a fun way viewers can connect with. Her work across both film & TV deals with the mystical & psychological always with complex characters that draw from real life.
With over 15 years working in entertainment, Ana’s journey to becoming a screenwriter & filmmaker began with 10+ years working as an appearance agent (clients included actors from THE WALKING DEAD, PUNISHER, THIS IS US). She is currently working as a writer’s assistant working on major studio features, most recently on Paramount’s The Running Man, from pitch to draft, through notes and on set throughout production in London.
Ana is currently producing the indie feature film Concrete River and the short Pool Girl after previously producing the newly-launched YouTube foodie TV series Order Up! L.A. In her time off, Ana enjoys reading (of course), indoor rock climbing, trail running, learning new languages, and loving every animal on the planet so much that she would – not to be dramatic – probably die for all of them. (Okay, maybe a little dramatic).
