Alexandria Lane is a screenwriter and director whose dark comedy digs into the raw, unruly depths of human connection. A seventh-generation Texan raised on contradictions — cowboy mythos meets queer feminist reality — Lane builds character-driven stories that subvert stereotypes, challenge power and center a fiercely female gaze.
Her dark comedy pilot, ROE V. MAEVE, was featured on Coverfly’s Redlist for Top 20 TV Comedies in 2022 and featured on the Blacklist for Women's History month in 2024. Her screenplays have been selected for prestigious fellowships such as the Orchard Project and Humanitas New Voices Fellowship, as well as recognized by the Sundance Labs, the Blacklist, Women in Film, ISA, ScreenCraft, WeScreenplay, Humanitas, Austin Film Festival, the PAGE Awards and Stage 32.
Lane’s most recent directing works include festival-favorites HOT SHEET MOTEL (Best Short Film Nominee, Austin Film Festival), A TINDR TRAP, and LEATHER DADDY (angered the proud boys, 2021, its own claim to fame).
