At 35,000 feet, while working as a flight attendant, Jana Vandelaar scribbled down stories too unbelievable to forget... in case she forgot. While raising her three girls in the wonderfully "colorful" Florida Keys, she also owned a dive shop that, ironically, took a dive—but at least it gave her more material, albeit soggier. She later resurfaced as a beloved humor columnist for The Reporter, where she spent eight hilarious years mostly complaining about her husband. (Free therapy.)
After retiring in heavenly Hawaii for five years, Jana, her long-suffering husband, and their pampered dogs finally returned to her native Colorado. There, she dug out those scribbled notes and now writes award-winning books and screenplays—all delivering first-class laughs and smiles.
